Introducing: DJ Lea Dobricic

Over the years, DJ Lea Dobricic has been using her distinct, timeless sense of music, and eye for the crowd to move hundreds of partygoers across countless dance floors. Born in Belgrade-Serbia, she was influenced by the local  underground Electronic -music scene. At age of 10, she began to actively pursue her love of music by taking up vocal training and joining the local choir. She always knew that she is destined to share her love and talent with music lovers around the world.

In 2005 DJ Lea decided to move to Florence, Italy to join the academy of Fine Arts. Her journey into the electronic music scene started at small clubs around Florence. It was not too long after, that she became one of the hidden treasures of the old city. Working as a full time DJ and producer, she has been rocking the house with heart and mind at many of the local clubs such as Tenax, KamKama, Frau Marlene, as well as many other clubs in Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Serbia, which have all been pleased by her live-performance.  She spins a contagious mix of deep house, tech house, minimal and techno. Always with precise technique and extreme elegance, bringing freshness and energy.

Charismatic, easy-going, talented and beautiful …she had a meteoric appearance in electronic music scene, rapidly gaining a prestigious position in an environment entwined with men. 2006 she was invited to become the resident DJ at “Moyo”, one of the major, well known establishments in the city.

Starting with a very modest setup, she was able to progressively improve on her skills in a relatively short amount of time. With countless hours of practice and many sleepless nights, she was able to drive her performance to whole new level. Her basic interface is two turntables and a mixer.Though today she plays using Traktor Scratch, she kept the “Jokey” in DJ: she never stopped beat matching. But she did add a MIDI controller for loops and effects.Driven by her inspiration, she wanted to do more than just play great music; she wanted to make it too.

Soon her talent was noticed by Ahmet Sendil’s label “Bosphorus Underground recordings” and she started to regularly publish for them and many other labels like ItaloBusiness, Butane,Killing Machine,No-Logic etc. Today, she spends most of her time multitasking between Ableton Live, Logic Pro and various synths, wave editors and sample libraries. In addition, she is now eagerly learning math and physics (Things that she always disliked in school) in order to help her synthesize the right sound that will make that perfect fit.

In May 2010, she was awarded the winning prize of the “Stefano Noferini Remix” Contest. Her submission was one among hundreds reviewed, a clear statement about her talent driven by her passion for the music. Remix is released on “Deeperfect” records.

Calvin Harris releases MYNC ‘Stadium’ Out Now on Fly Eye Records

MYNC has a new hit track coming out called “Stadium” that is released on Calvin Harris’ record label, Fly Eye Records. The guys have already busted out big remixes of well known DJ’s, such as Avicii’s “Fade into Darkenss”, Chuckie’s “Let the Bass Kick”, and ATB’s “Heartbeat”.

The duo of Mark Brown and Richard Searle have been successful DJ’s in their own right. Each has produced and DJ’ed successfully as individuals before joining together. Mark Brown even has had his own record label for a couple years called CR2 records. He has released tracks from some huge artists, like Steve Angello, Eric Prydz, and Dirty South.

MYNC caught the attention of Calvin Harris who then decided to sign the guys to his label to release this song after hearing it being played at the Miami Winter Music Conference to great affect. They will be joining a talented roster that includes the likes of the aforementioned Calvin Harris, Nicky Romero, Michael Woods, and Bart B More.

“Stadium” has the ability to be a huge track this summer that can be played in any stadium. It has a great electro sound with a sick build up that gives way to a fist-pumpers paradise.

Grotesque Presents In Search Of Sunrise 10 – Australia

Saturday the 19th of May sees the return of the In Search of Sunrise series to the Grotesque party programme! This spring, Richard Durand will be launching the 10th part of the world-renowned compilation series and the kick-off for the world tour, true to tradition, will take place inHolland. This prestigious event is to be held by PT Events in the fabulous Central Studios inUtrecht.

The preparations are already in full swing and in the meantime Black Hole Recordings have announced that the latest theme for the series will be Australia, following the previous editions inspired by South Africa and India. “Australia is for me absolutely one of the most breathtaking countries in the world. It’s for good reason that I tour there twice a year, the land and the people there give me so much positive energy. Part 10 of In Search of Sunrise is my way to honour this beautiful country” says Durand himself.

Richard Durand will of course be treating his audience to an incredible 3-hour set. Those lucky enough to have already witnessed an edition of ISOS at Grotesque will know that Richard has a gift for entertaining the crowd and to involve them in his set. The line-up obtains an even more allure thanks to the appearance of ‘special guest’ Simon Patterson (UK), supported by another treasured ISOS regular, Alex O’Rion. Alongside the much-loved residents, RAM and Artento Divini, PT Events is proud to add German dj/producers duo Kyau & Albert to this impressive line-up.

Impressive ambiance – the dresscode
Due to the fact that the last 2 editions of In Search of Sunrise were their most successful parties ever, the organisation is full of enthusiasm for this next instalment. PT Events are nevertheless expecting a big turn-out of up-for-it party people and a truly magical party experience which has become their trademark, alongside the guaranteed spectacle of cutting-edge dance music.

The organisation would appreciate all party-goers to follow the theme of blue and white, the colours of the Australian flag. While not mandatory, the dresscode will of course add to the whole experience for all involved! If you find it impossible to dress in blue and white, please wear something else that you love to party in…..anything chique or hip will do, but leave your (erotic) party clothes at home. In the eyes of the organisation this does not fit in with their vision, so please take this into account.
