Trance don and pioneering Berlin DJ Paul Van Dyk’s first appearance at IMS was a sit-down for a Keynote interview with Midem moderator Gary Smith. A big advocate of social responsibility and making the world green, the IMS delegation got an insight to the mind and workings of an increasingly political PVD. This talk preceded a further chat about social responsibility in electronic music.

Cathy and David Guetta opened a lounge club at the Ibiza Airport. The club, which is named after the eponymous electronic music parties organised by the husband and wife duo on the island for years – currently at club Ushuaia – is the place where you can eat, dance, drink and party until the very last minute before boarding your flight.
“We are very excited about this project since it’s the first time in the world they ever do a launch like this. And to do it in Ibiza is kind of logical” explains David Guetta.
Entirely designed by his wife, Cathy, the lounge is meant to be the meeting spot for all the people who enter and leave the island.
Music, casual food, and spectacular views are the 3 ingredients that make this lounge club another indispensable place to visit Ibiza.
Eight parties into an incredible season and the first party of August @Amnesia welcomes one of the strongest lineups to date. As a third of Swedish House Mafia and one of the biggest DJs on the planet, Sebastian Ingrosso headlines the terrace, in a rare Ibizan performance outside of his Ushuaïa residency. The most recent date to be added to Seb’s diary, his Together debut comes as part of the greatest year of his career so far, with headline performances at Tomorrowland, Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend, T in the Park and Rock in Rio, plus an all conquering show at the Milton Keynes Bowl. Expect a masterclass in big room house from this dance music powerhouse, as he sends Amnesia’s legendary dancefloor into a frenzy.

As the longest running UK club night on the island, taking over Thursday nights, Cream Ibiza brings together the world’s top DJs and thousands of clubbers to the award winning ‘World’s Best Club’ Amnesia. With mammoth weekly parties that will see Above & Beyond joined by the likes of Paul van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell, Calvin Harris, Sander van Doorn, Laidback Luke, and Example at the club this summer.
Described by DJ Mag as “the biggest electronic DJing and production collective the UK has ever produced,” Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamaki AKA Above & Beyond made an obvious choice for this year’s installment of the Cream compilation series.
Producers, songwriters, DJ’s and owners of the renowned Anjunabeats label, Above & Beyond have remained down-to-earth and as determined as ever despite the numerous accolades, remixing greats like Madonna and Radiohead and selling out shows from Bombay to Brixton Academy. 2011 saw the release of their second studio album Group Therapy. Now they are set to perform at Cream Ibiza this summer, headlining six dates through June to September. Whether you’re heading over to the White Isle or not, Above & Beyond’s Cream Ibiza mix is essential listening for the summer.
This year’s Cream Ibiza tracklist perfectly reflects the ethos of Above & Beyond, taking in their biggest tried and tested tunes, fan favourites and exclusive new tracks – all guaranteed main room Ibiza material. Alongside hot tracks from the likes of Cosmic Gate, Dirty South, Kyau & Albert and Depeche Mode (Eric Prydz Remix) Cream Ibiza also features exclusive new mixes of Above & Beyond’s Stealing Time (from the critically acclaimed debut album Tri-State) and On My Way To Heaven, plus brand new remixes of Tranquillity Base (aka Above & Beyond) Razorfish by Jerome Isma-Ae and of the Above & Beyond and Andy Moor classic “Air For Life” by Norin & Rad.
Since the Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel opening at the beginning of summer 2011, thousands of discerning party people have passed through its pristine white gates, changing the face of clubbing on Ibiza by re-introducing the outdoor party and cementing the venue’s credentials as an iconic destination.
Ushuaia Ibiza ‘The Beach Album’ is a collection of ‘unexpected’ grooves from the world’s finest music & beach hotel destination. Just when you though number one record ‘Can’t Stop Me’ couldn’t get any bigger, worldstar DJ Tiesto took up the task of remixing it and he did it well! Sir Tiesto leaves most of the vocals and synth led build up and then he drops the song into a crazy electro drop that will make crowds go crazy for sure. On the flipside we find a banging remix by R3hab & Dyro. Tiesto’s rework has been around for about a month or two now, while this R3HAB & Dyro remix is fresh to ears.
Beatport released this dual remix package today featuring Tiesto and a R3HAB & Dyro collaboration. The Afrojack original was a huge tune which floated the mainstream for weeks on end.
