On the age of 4 it was already clear that Lady Rio had an huge passion for singing and performing . She learned the complex techniques of singing classical music at a very young age. Nowadays she still has a lot of benefit of learning those skills.
Her talent was first discovered while doing audition for the famous musical; Oliver Twist. She was picked out to play one of the roles in the musical, produced by “Joop van den Ende Theater Producties”. While playing in this musical Lady Rio performed on the stages of famous theatres, like Carré in Amsterdam.
As Lady Rio grew older she found out that she had another passion. The love for house music was born.
Lady Rio started writing lyrics and recording tracks in 2008. This resulted in a big summer hit called “Freakybeatza” and was played by big radio stations, like Radio 538, Slam FM, 3FM etc. Famous DJ’s, like Gregor Salto, Peter Luts, Nicky Romero, Gabriel & Castellon and DJ Jean have played “Freakybeatza” in the best clubs and at the biggest festivals.
Lady Rio has already shared the stage with some respected DJ’s and live acts, such as Funkerman, Roog, Gregor Salto, Bingo Players, Nicky Romero, Groovenatics, East & Young, Vato Gonzalez & MC Tjen, Quintino, Marc Benjamin, Jamie Westland (Di-Rect), Steff Da Campo, Praia Del Sol, Mo MC, MC Boogshe, Andrei Russo (Percussion), Stanley on the sax and many others.
Lady Rio is known for her powerful, sexy and soulful vocals. During a performance Lady Rio will improvise on the sounds of the DJ and other live acts. With her perfect timing and energetic performance Lady Rio will leave you a long lasting impression.
