Ever since this talented family, inspired by jazz, funk and soul, formed a solid dance act, they were an extremely popular name at clubs and festivals. Their unique sound in electronic music is like nothing heard on the clubland circuit now, and not ever.

They started as Andy and Dorothy, musically schooled by their Father and Uncle who were soul artists in their own right, The Sherman Brothers. Growing up with an appreciation of the greats, the pair only listened to the finest funk artists – Prince, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Bebe & Cece Winans and Earth Wind & Fire. In 2006 they released ‘3 Minutes To Explain’. This enormous club track was alongside the 2 greats, Fedde Le Grand and Funkerman, which validated the duo’s colossal potential. Leon Sherman then entered the frame to create once of the most diverse music families around.

Shermanology’s most recent release, ‘Can’t Stop Me’, a collaboration with superstar Afrojack, was a huge dance hit and made it’s way to almost every dance floor worldwide. As for fresh release ‘The Only Way’, the prognosis says this will be this summer’s next big club banger. ‘The Only Way’ is already supported by the world’s top notch DJ’s such as Steve Aoki, R3hab, Thomas Gold and played in international radio shows by Sander van Doorn, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero, Afrojack and David Guetta.

Martin Garrix: jongste artiest ooit op nummer 1 in belangrijkste dance chart

Een van de meest gehypte en besproken teasers van mei 2013 was de teaser voor het nummer ‘Animals’. De naam van de DJ werd van te voren niet genoemd en vanaf dat moment raakten fans en bloggers in verhitte discussies over welke producer hier achter zou kunnen zitten. Het bleek de zeventienjarige Nederlandse Martin Garrix te zijn, officieel door het populaire magazine Billboard aangekondigd.

Na het stijgen in de hitlijsten de afgelopen week, bereikte ‘Animals’ de veelgeprezen nummer 1 plek op de belangrijkste dance chart op het web: Beatport.

Martin Garrix’ naam gonst nu al een tijdje in de internationale dance scene.
Omdat hij met ’s werelds grootste dance label Spinnin’ Records en boekingskantoor ‘Ace Agency’ werkt, die ook DJ sterren als Afrojack, Sander van Doorn, Quintino en Rehab vertegenwoordigen, is Martin’s ster rijzende. Online magazine Dancing Astronaut benoemde Martin vorige week nog tot een van de vijf ‘Breakthrough Artists Summer 2013’

Remix Of The Day: Rihanna – Where Have You Been

After the break up of his former musical focus, Sydney-based producer Streetcleaner shifted over to the realms of electronic dance music around mid- 2011. This previous musical experience lends itself to his driving and complex style of electro house, as well as the influence of artists such as Porter Robinson, Dirtyloud and Darth & Vader. His laptop and Logic Studio are the main weapons of choice Streetcleaner uses too channel this influence into explosive, hard- hitting dance music, along with Native Instruments’ Massive and various plugins and VSTs.

While only hitting the production scene fairly recently, Streetcleaner has already shown significant potential for such a short amount of time. Even more promise is expected for 2012 for Streetcleaner, with a number of releases lined up for the future, and even bigger plans awaiting in the long-run. His release schedule for 2012 includes five massive electro dance floor destroyers, Shoreside, The Jade Monkey, FThree, Badlands and the anticipated Zenith EP.

Hardwell Releases Bootleg Pack “Trilogy” to Celebrate 300,000 Facebook Likes
